Case study: 1100 litre Wheelie Bin Lifter Attachment
The challenge
The customer needed a way to safely lift and move 1100 litre wheelie bins around their facility. Moving bins over long distances was causing damage to the wheels of the bins. It was taking a long time and the customer wanted a more efficient method for handling the bins.
The solution
We designed a safe way of moving multiple full bins. We produced a fork-mounted load lifting platform made to carry a maximum of 4 filled bins. The attachment is secured to the forklift forks with positive heel pin retention.
The wheelie bin lifter makes moving up to 4 bins safe and secure:
Double position retention of the bins – if the customer is only carrying 1 or 2 bins, the retention bar is positioned at the midpoint, for 3 or 4 bins it’s positioned at the front.
Rigid side frames – secure and retain the bins within the structure.
Non-slip floor – reduces risk and prevents people slipping when loading and unloading.
Results
Invicta was given a challenge and once again delivered. By looking at our existing range and finding ways to adapt the products to make them suited to the customer, we solved their problem.
The attachment has increased efficiency, with the team moving 4 bins at once. The new system reduces wheel damage and prevents accidents due to the clear and safe process.
Do you deal with wheelie bins on site?
Lifting and moving wheelie bins is an unpleasant task, but necessary all the same. Making it faster by having the right attachments on site saves time and makes life easier for employees tasked with waste disposal. We provide standard attachments for dealing with 240 and 1100 litre wheelie bins. We can design bespoke products too, like the one above.
