Dummy Carriages are designed to fit on to your existing forklift carriage to either increase the carriage width or to change to a smaller or larger mounting class i.e. 3-2 or 3-4.

Operation
- Remove the forks from the carriage of the Forklift truck.
- Remove the quick release bottom hangers from the Dummy Carriage.
- Lift the Dummy Carriage, with the aid of other mechanical means other than that of the Forklift it is intended to be fitted to, and position the top hangers of the Dummy Carriage onto the top carriage rail of the Forklift
- Ensure that the Dummy Carriage is positioned centrally to the Forklift Carriage and then locate the single latch pin into the Forklift Carriage Castellation.
- Fit the two quick release hangers to the underside of the Forklift’s bottom carriage rail ensuring that the safety clips are correctly fitted.
- The unit is now ready for use.
Maintenance
- The Dummy Carriage should be inspected weekly for general condition with particular attention paid to: A – All weld points, B – Any damaged/worn components
- Damage or failure must be reported and rectified immediately prior to re-use of the attachment.
- General surface rusting especially in the critical areas should be treated with proprietary inhibitors, primers and paint on a regular basis.
- This product is certified for six (6) months from the date of manufacture after which it is the customer’s responsibility to have the product re-tested at an approved testing facility or inspected and logged in a register by a competent person as advised by the HSE.
Health & Safety
- The manager of the department or section where the attachment is to be used must be responsible for ensuring the operators are fully conversant with the attachment, its operation and maintenance.
- Ensure both the truck and attachments are capable of handling the intended load and its contents.
- Do not shock load the attachment under any circumstances.
- Only use with the quick release bottom hangers correctly fitted and the latch pin securely fitted in place.
