Product focus: Access platforms
We’re renowned for our industry-leading forklift attachment insight, which helps clients from multiple sectors get on with their work and overcome workplace challenges.
In our last product focus blog, we took a closer look at our roll cage lifters. In this post, we’re turning our attention to our forklift truck access platforms. Keep reading for more details about them, including their functionality and features:
What are they used for?
Our forklift truck access platforms provide a safe environment where non-routine maintenance and a wide range of inspections can be carried out from. Forklifts are primarily used to lift materials, not people, but using them with working platforms enables people to work safely at height.
How do they meet industry requirements?
All of our platforms are manufactured in line with the Health and Safety Executive’s latest guidance on non-integrated forklift truck working platforms.
What are the options?
Being the industry-leaders that we are, we’ve developed several different models of access platforms to help our clients based on their different requirements. They are the:
Folding access platform
The folding access platform is ideal for carrying out inspections and doesn’t take up much storage space, due to its folding functionality. It can be quickly assembled and folded away in a matter of minutes.
Standard features: Attachment hinges into floor base, internal handrail, safety harness point, self-draining non-slip floor, zinc-plated heel pins for safe attachment to forklift, maximum fork section – 150 x 50mm at 525 centres.
Wide access platform
This particular platform has been designed to enable work to be carried out within wider parameters than standard access platforms. With capacity for two people, our wide access platforms are available in two different base dimensions – 1,500mm and 1,800mm wide variants.
Standard features: Hinge back guard for easy transporting and storage, safety harness attachment rings, self-draining non-slip floor, zinc-plated heel pins for safe attachment to the forklift, maximum fork section – 150 x 50mm at 525 centres.
Crane or fork-mounted platform
With the option of both crane-slung or fork-mounted as standard, this access platform delivers multiple usages from a single attachment, encompassing many characteristics of the IAP range.
Standard features: Automatic locking and unlocking gates, low level, rear and overhead mesh protection, safety harness attachment rings, self-draining non-slip floor, zinc-plated heel pins for safe attachment to the forklift, maximum fork section – 150 x 50mm at 525 centres.
High lift access platform
The high lift access platform is the ideal solution for providing additional lift height. The fork pockets are positioned at floor level, increasing the height of the platform by 1,000 mm.
Standard features: Automatic locking and unlocking gate, fixed side ladder with handrails, safety harness attachment rings, self-draining non-slip floor, zinc-plated heel pins for safe attachment to the forklift, maximum fork section – 150 x 50mm at 525 centres.
